Heavy-Duty Steel Structures
The protective coating for heavy-duty steel structure components focuses on heavy-duty corrosion resistance, deformation resistance, weather resistance, and durability. It typically employs a three-layer system of primer, intermediate coat, and topcoat, suitable for harsh service conditions such as bridges, ships, and large steel structures. Strict control of application temperature and humidity is crucial to prevent defects such as sagging and pinholes caused by single thick coats. Once the entire coating is applied, it significantly extends the service life of the steel structure, meeting the long-term protection requirements of heavily corrosive environments such as outdoor and marine environments.
The entire coating system utilizes high-pressure airless atomization technology, pressurizing the paint to form a fine and stable paint mist. Compared to traditional spraying methods, the high-pressure airless process offers higher painting efficiency, more uniform and controllable paint film thickness, and comprehensively improves coating efficiency and finished product yield.
Modern spraying emphasizes environmental protection, using paints with low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, employing paint-saving spraying equipment and precise paint control technology. This improves paint utilization and operational efficiency, reduces paint mist dispersion, reduces waste generation, reduces resource consumption, and minimizes environmental pollution from waste.
Spray Coating Case Study
This application case study showcases a client's spray coating of heavy-duty steel structural components. The entire process is automated, resulting in rapid application and improved manufacturing efficiency. An electric high-pressure airless spray gun is used, ensuring stable paint delivery, saving paint, and being environmentally friendly. Equipped with a high-pressure airless automatic spray gun, it can handle high-viscosity and solvent-free materials. The addition of a heater ensures a more uniform paint film surface, resulting in excellent coating quality and extremely high coating efficiency.
Based on the customer's painting needs, IMLUCKY's professional technicians customize complete solutions according to customer requirements.

King E-Series Electric Airless Paint Sprayers are used for spraying protective coatings, and some models are approved for use in hazardous locations. King E-Series sprayers use a more convenient and reliable power source, eliminating the need for compressed air at the work site. Furthermore, electric drive technology reduces pulsation and prevents motor icing, helping you complete every job smoothly.
▶ Electrical - With proper wiring, you can use the power source safely, reliably, and conveniently.
▶ No Icing - Icing is a thing of the past as air motors are no longer needed.
▶ Reduced Noise - Noise significantly impacts your working environment in any application.
▶ Plug and Play - King E-Series sprayers can operate on multiple power options (120V or 240V).
▶ ATEX Certified - Certified for use in hazardous locations.
▶ Energy Saving - Compared to pneumatic airless sprayers, King E-Series sprayers offer higher efficiency and a lower total cost of ownership, making them the most cost-effective solution.
Heavy-duty steel structural components are coated using a Graco King E electric high-pressure airless sprayer (USA) with a Graco Hydra automatic airless spray gun (USA). High-pressure atomization significantly improves construction efficiency.
Features:
• Handles high-viscosity and solvent-free materials
• With a heater, the paint film is more uniform.
• Bottom-discharge hopper minimizes material waste and facilitates faster cleaning.
• Agitator can be installed on the hopper lid.
*Note: Airless spraying uses high-pressure fluid for atomization, without the use of compressed air, relying solely on fluid pressure. It generates airflow by hydraulically propelling the material through the nozzle. As the fluid leaves the orifice, friction between the fluid flow and the atmosphere breaks it down into smaller particles. The nozzle size and pressure determine the material flow rate. This technology is suitable for medium to high viscosity fluids, but the spray quality is lower. However, it is ideal for applications requiring higher speed and delivery efficiency.
We offer customized spraying solutions and comprehensive support for heavy-duty steel structure coating, covering a complete set of equipment from spray pumps and metering systems to spray guns. Whether you need single-component or two-component materials, regardless of flow rate or viscosity, we can meet your spraying needs.
